I can’t hear actors in movies anymore

Maybe it started with Chirstian Bale in Batman or maybe it was way before that. I don’t know but for quite some time now I’ve had a hell of a time trying to hear those super quiet whisper acted scenes in movies and on TV. I know the actors feel like they can really emote and bring a lot to their performances when they get really quiet and let their emotions flow from deep within, but for God’s sake, if a sound engineer could bring up their volume and turn down the music a little bit I’d be REALLY happy. It’s hard enough not being able to see the film. Not being able to hear it blows extra hard.
