The X International Music Festival "Sharq Taronalari" (Melodies of the Orient) was held in Uzbekistan's historic city of Samarkand on August 25-30. nnThis year's event gathered over 50 performing groups from around the world.nn"Sharq Taronalari" is a biennial festival of traditional music from different countries.nnIt has been held since 1997 by the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and under the patronage of Unesco.
