Wonder how your Camera would look if it had one of this fancy large format sensors like the Alexa 65? Emulate the large format look of films like "The Revenant", "Rogue One", "The Hateful 8", and "2001" using some cheap gear and the camera you already own.nnWe are going to do a little math and built a crazy rig that will allow us to reposition a smaller sensor behind a medium format lens in a fashion that will allow us to capture an Alexa65 equivalent sensor size. We will then compare the large sensor against the same framing with the original sensor size.nnFor your viewing pleasure, the 12K large format composition was downscaled to 8K to fit YouTubes maximum 8K resolution. The rest of this episode was acquired in 5.7K ProRes RAW and upsized to match.nnnIf you have a behemoth of a computer, you can download the original 12K composition in ProRes 444 here (beware – this has 11GB):nwe.tl/t-DPDqp2FHKKnnIf you just want to play with one frame:nwe.tl/t-RB2KZdJpi9nnnUsed gear:n- Panasonic AU-EVA1n- Atomos Shogun Infernon- Mamiya Sekor c 80mm f1.9n- 4 Way Macro Focusing Railnwww.amazon.de/gp/product/B01NADH7AQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00n- Lanparte rig and handgrip adapter for vertical mountingnnThis video made it to Newsshooter.com... find an interview and further details here:nwww.newsshooter.com/2018/11/05/creating-a-panasonic-eva-65-12k-large-format-images/nn...and RedSharkNews found it interesting as well:nwww.redsharknews.com/production/item/5933-here-s-how-to-convert-an-eva1-into-an-alexa-65nn...and the german site SlashCamnwww.slashcam.de/news/single/Large-Frame-Loop-Aufnahmen-mit-Panasonic-EVA1-simu-14721.html
