During a festive celebration in a remote village in Nepal, a young girl encounters a mysterious woman unlike anyone she has ever seen. Enchanted by the promise of opportunity, her parents agree when the woman offers to take their daughter to a distant city, where she will supposedly work as a caretaker in a household. But shortly after crossing into India, the girl’s dreams shatter as she realizes the truth: she is being sent to live in a brothel, far from the life her family imagined for her.
