►How are ‘what if’ trailers made?
I start by becoming a fan of the film, then research franchise news, fan theories and updates about the dream film. Then find new clips of the actors and any elements that makes the the franchise known for. Ultimately to create a ‘what if’ trailer using effects, music, AI, and editing software like Wondershare Filmora, Photopea, and more.

Editing Journey:
For my Avengers: Doomsday fan trailer, I approached the edit with the mindset of building a realistic vision rather than just a fantasy mashup. I carefully selected only the heroes and characters we can expect in the MCU’s current trajectory, grounding the trailer in a way that feels true to Marvel’s storytelling. From the beginning, I knew the tone had to be more serious than past Avengers trailers, as this would be Doctor Doom’s grand entrance. His presence carries power and fear, so I designed the edit to slowly build tension, allowing Doom to cast a shadow over Earth’s mightiest heroes.
The highlight of this trailer for me is have Sam Wilson say “I only bow to one God, and I’m pressure he doesn’t dress like that” a nice homage to what Steve Rogers said in Avengers 2012 “There’s only one God man and I’m pressure he doesn’t dress like that”. The process involved mixing clips from different films and carefully aligning them so the dialogue, action, and emotions would feel unified under a single narrative. Music and sound design played a major role in setting the epic, ominous mood that defines Doom’s threat. Every frame was chosen to not just show action, but to elevate the stakes and give weight to the story being told. Ultimately, the goal of this trailer was to capture the essence of what fans hope to see on screen and to inspire filmmakers with a grounded, cinematic approach to Marvel’s next great villain.
