Following her mother’s death, Sarah (Ariana Richards), a Californian teenager is sent to live with her estranged father, Ian Stewart (David Robb), a sheep farmer in the Scottish Highlands. Things begin badly with her father’s late arrival at the airport and get steadily worse during dinner, as Sarah is handed a plate of red meat. She is a vegetarian, completely opposed to the slaughter of animals.
