Although his return was know for quite a while, it's only recently that we get the exact details how about this character was revived from a rare tv spot and a recent interview from the actor. Stephen Lang who play Colonel Quaritch gave an interview a few hours ago to Yahoo Sports where he explains exactly how he was able to return as the main villain. In the original movie Neytiri impales quaritch with 2 arrow infused with neurotoxin that should kill him in less than 30 seconds as he explained himself. But, in Avatar 2 the way of water, Quaritch returns but as a recombinant which is slightly different than avatar. “He’s a genetically engineered autonomous avatar,” said Lang to yahoo sports. “He has been downloaded with the mind, the emotions, and even more interestingly, possibly the spirit of Quaritch. Now, that’s all pretty esoteric stuff.” So recomb Quaritch is not controlled by any pilot and function pretty much in the same way as any other na’vi. However, his body and minds are completely engineered and there is nothing natural within the creature that he is. “He comes with a full memory bank up until the time he actually undergoes the DNA transfer. So there are certain things that he doesn’t have any memory of at all. He has no memory of his death.”
