Surendra Chaubey, a farmer and chakki owner from a village in Azamgarh wants to get his elder daughter Shrishti married but hurdles keep on coming because she is highly educated and her desire to work professionally while Kashinath Pandey, an electronics store chain owner from Lucknow is facing a similar hurdle in getting his younger son Dhruv married because of his family's search for the ideal daughter in law. Fates meet and Shristhi and Dhruv happen to like each other in a complicated situation where they were supposed to meet different prospective partners. Destiny strikes and they meet again and Kashinath Pandey impressed by Shristi and considering Dhruv's likeness for her proposed the union to Shristi's father upon a planned visit of a new store opening in Azamgarh. Kashi and Dhruv are happy but Dhruv's mother Roopa and Bua aren't because of the difference in their status but everyone gives in to Kashi's insistence and the union is scheduled. Here Shrishti meets Arun a boy near her college and supposedly lies to Dhani. Bariksha happens amidst agreements and disagreements but Dhruv unwillingly breaks up with Shristhi for his mother and Bua's happiness due to an unfortunate scenario created mistakenly by Dhani widening the rift. But things take their course and union is reinstated. But Shristhi goes missing on the day of marriage and Dhani forcefully has to take Shrishti's place in the mandap to maintain the respect of both the families. Shristi is later found injured due to an electric shock and the result is Dhani in a house where no one accepts her to here Shrishti being found. The complicated situation of Dhruv, Shristhi and Dhani is created with their struggles to maintain their calm.
