For more than 40 years, Candlelight at the Ranch has been a tradition on the South Plains. Each year, visitors to the National Ranching Heritage Center step into a living Christmas card. As Candlelight at the Ranch recreates a frontier holiday similar to those on the open prairie from 1780 to 1950. Generations of guests have had a glimpse into the past to see a lonely cowboy at a far flung line camp bunk house to a festive party at a victorian mansion. Tonight we want to take you back in time to see Christmas on the prairie throughout the years. Texas Tech Public Media is proud to serve as your local PBS and NPR stations across West Texas. Programs like this are made possible by support from our viewers. Thank you.
