So WTF Happened To Cyberpunk 2077 on Consoles?

Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be a generation defining game on PS4 and Xbox One, but the final product released was anything but. While the PS5 and Xbox Series X did help the game, they weren't even in original plans. So what happened to Cyberpunk 2077?
