Russia has said that its forces in Ukraine are conducting a “large spectre of missions” to control occupied areas of Donbas & Kherson. For several weeks, the Russian military has been struggling to maintain its foothold in Kherson. Relentless Ukrainian counter-offensives in the region have resulted in the liberation of many towns and villages. Since Kherson’s fall in March, a number of challenges have forced Russia to adopt measures to tighten its grip over the region.
