Russia's "Weak Spot"?| Why A Bridgehead Over Dnipro May Be Key To Ukraine's Kherson Counteroffensive

  • Ukraine has been talking about launching a counteroffensive in Kherson since July, fighting to recapture at least the regional capital. Ukraine’s top leadership gave the green signal to its forces on August 29 to attack the Russian frontline in the region. Ukrainian forces began the offensive actions in several directions on the South front towards liberating the occupied territories. After more than a week, Kyiv’s main goal in its southern offensive is becoming clearer. According to reports, Ukraine’s army isn’t going for the whole region, but rather aiming for the main bridgehead that is vital to Russia.
